Add a favicon in your blog #Blog Logo #ICON #Blog_Tips #DreaMerZ-Note

Hello, I'm writing a blog to keep in mind. this is DreaMerZ-Note.

In this post, I'm going to introduce how to apply the banner icon of the blog, Favicon. It's been a while since i've managed the blog again, so i wanted to change the Favicon, so I took this opportunity to apply a new Logo.

Then, Let's find out how to create a free Logo, apply Favicon, and check it together. Oh! Even if you operate on a platform other than Google Blog, the application of Favicon will be similar.

* What is Favicon?
A small image used by a browser to represent a website (ex. blog).

    | Create a Free Logo Img (MarkMaker)

With the recent advent of many AI platforms, you can freely create Logos, Icons, and Caricatures. But, most of the sites that are searched for free are free to create, but they offer free downloads. If you need a high-quality logo (favicon), you can pay for it, but a simple text-based logo is enough, one way is to use a platform that also provides free downloads.

Among the sites that generate free logos, I would recommend MarkMaker. It's less creative or quality than other platforms that I've been serving lately, but I think it's the best place to use it as a blog favicon or as a watermark for images.

You can create various images by creating a logo to use after accessing MarkMaker, and all images (PNG) can be downloaded for free. The tip here is that the favicon logo is recoommended as a circular image. The circular shape is the cleanest on the web, and the circular logo is the best quality on MarkMaker as well.

    | Convert PNG to ICO (Convertio)

If you download a logo you like from MarkMaker, you need to convert that image into an icon extension, ICO. This is because MarkMaker provides images in PNG. Then, how do you convert it to ICO?

There are so many sites that convert image extensions. Among them, I'd like to recommend Convertio. It's free and really neat.

Go to Convertio, set it to PNG to ICO, upload the PNG file downloaded from MarkMaker, and when the conversion is over, download the ICO file and it's over. Maybe 30 seconds is enough for the whole process.

    | Apply 'Favicon' on Blog

If the Fabicon ICO file is ready, apply it in the blog settings and the whole process will be completed. You  can apply Google Blog in the course below. It's really easy.

    # Admin page > Setting > Favicon > 'SELECT ICON FILE' > Save. end!!
Add favicon in blog - set to blog

    | Check the Applied 'Favicon'

So, how do I Check the applied Favicon? First of all, plz proceed with 'Delete Internet Usage History' in your browser before checking. Since the blog's cache file has already been recorded, the applied Favicon is not immediately confirmed.

    Clear Cache.
    # Chrome > Settings > Privacy > 'Internet Usage History' > Delete Data
Add favicon in blog - clear cache

If you delete all the Internet history(cache) and register your blog address in the 'Bookmark', you can see the Favicon applied in front of the blog name as shown in the image below.

And if you've ever logged on to a Blog on Google, you can check it out at the bottom of the Search bar. It's so tiny and beautifully applied. I'm sure if you've read up to here, you've been thinking more about which one to use than applying it. Then, apply the ones you like.
