Hello, I'm writing a blog to keep in mind. this is DreaMerZ-Note.
In the last post, I shared the reason why I bought the Radeon RX 7700 XT and the Time Spy and Fire Strike bench scores measured in the default state. In this post, I'll explain the "undervolting" that you must set if you use the Radeon graphics card, and share how the bench score changes when you undervolt.

So, what about the setting you recommend? Just set the Voltage to 85%. It's functional, and the heat is down!
| What's undervolting?
Undervolting is literally a setting that lowers the voltage. Proper undervolting can expect better performance than you think. Generally, the voltage is lowered, but the clock is maintained, so you can see the effect of overclocking, and the power consumption is lowered by the lower voltage, so you can keep the heat level low.
The effect of undervolting is appropriate for Radeon graphics cards. Radeon graphics cards don't have a good overall cost compared to Nvidia. However, if you apply undervolting, you can catch the heat and increase the performance.
And the advantage of the Radeon graphics card is that all of these settings can be set to a few clicks in the Adrenalin software.

First, Let's check the FireStrike score and TimeSpy score with the defautl values. As shown in the image below, all settings of performance in the Radeon adrenalin program are set to default values.
The default setting is Fire Strike score '33,427' and Time Spy score is '15,608'. Again, it performs better than 4060TI. So Let's compare it to the undervolting results.
| Results of testing with Undervolting + VRAM Overclock.
The image below is the Radeon adrenaline program screen with undervolting. I set it to the appropriate value for the product I purchased while applying various settings. And in the adrenaline program, you can easily apply overclock to VRAM memory. All these settings can be done on the 'Performance -> Tune' Screen.
* GPU Tune.
- Min/Max Freq : Default Set.
- Voltage : 85% (987)
* VRAM Tune.
- Max Freq(MHz) : 2500
** Different Products may have different values that allow tuning values. (please proceed with the stress test)
I set up undervolting and VRAM overclocking, and re-measured the Fire Strike and Time Spy benches. Oh, but the results turned out to be more interesting than I thought. The Fire Strike score using Direct 11 was '33,568', not much different from the default setting. It went up by about 0.5%...
On the other hand, the Time Spy score using Direct 12 rose slightly to '16,652'. It's a 6% increase. I only clicked on the program a few thimes and got 6% increase. If you overclock the CPU and RAM, you can expect a 10% to 15% increase in performance.
The bench result wasn't as clear as I thought, but the setup method was so easy that I feel like I earned $30 ~ $40 for free. Of course, you have to enjoy the performance by playing games, not benches. Then in the next postings, we'll measuer the PoE2 frame.
